Pearls offers a number of ongoing monthly activities to it's members. These activities change depending on interests. Activities are chaired by a member who volunteers for that position. Members are encouraged to participate and to start their own activities. Here are some examples:
Birthday Lunch Bunch
Meets at noon on the 2nd MONDAY, every other month, beginning in February each year. Pearls members get together at a nice restaurant to honor those members celebrating birthdays. Members who miss their birthday month celebration, may attend any other month's celebration.
Just Hors d 'oeuvres (JHD)
Meets on the 1st FRIDAY of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Enjoy an evening in the casual, relaxed setting of a member's home to mix and mingle with your Pearls friends, both new and old. Bring your favorite substantial hors d'oeuvre (for at least 12) and the beverage of your choice for your own consumption. Desserts will be coordinated by the hostess. This event is open to both singles and couples and a good time is had by all who attend.
Breakfast Bunch
Meets the 2nd THURSDAY of each month at 9:30 am at a local restaurant for breakfast. Restaurants vary from month to month.
Coffee & Conversation (CC)
Meets on the 4th THURSDAY of each month, from 10:00 am to noon at the home of a Pearls member. It is a wonderful, low-key, relaxing way to meet old friends and make new ones. Hostess provides tea, coffee and "brunch type" items of her choosing, such as muffins, breads, and fruit. They can be home made or store bought, no one really cares. More emphasis on the conversation than on the coffee!
Pearls Night Out (PNO)
Meets on the 1st THURSDAY of each month at various restaurants around Naples. Start time is around 4:30 pm for Happy Hour pricing. We try to keep the restaurant locations balanced, to give members a chance to have something at all ends of town. This is a great way to get to know local restaurants and have a fun night out with the girls. This event is for the ladies of Pearls.
Stay Acquainted Night (SAN)
On the 4th SATURDAY of each month, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, enjoy an evening in the casual setting of a volunteer hostess's home. Mix, mingle, make new friends and STAY ACQUAINTED with old friends while sampling appetizers and desserts brought by the guests. Both couples and singles are welcome. Members bring an appetizer or dessert for 12 people and a beverage for their own consumption. Both couples and singles are welcome.
Monthly Luncheon
Meets the
3rd THURSDAY of each month from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm at various country clubs and venues around Naples. The luncheon
consists of a short business meeting followed by a program of interest. The cost of the luncheon is $38. Meals selections are made through the website, unless it is a buffet. The cost includes your meal, water, iced tea, coffee, dessert, room rental and gratuities. Membership requires attendance at a minimum number of luncheons each year. Currently members must attend five (5) luncheons each year to remain in good standing. This number is pro-rated for new members based on the month they join. Special Events
In addition to our ongoing activities we offer special events periodically. They do not have a set schedule. They typically occur once or twice a month at various times depending on the selected event. There may be a fee to attend, but many events are free. Examples of past events are: "Turkey on the Beach" (around Thanksgiving time), a "Holiday Party" (around Christmas time), excursions to local attractions, historic homes or interesting locations. We have scheduled visits to museums, parks, the zoo, theater performances, movies, fairs, and even an outing on a local tour boat. Members are encouraged to take advantage of these trips because they are a fun way to get to know other Pearls members in a casual setting. Suggestions on places of interest or things to do is always welcome.
